薩索斯島是希臘卡瓦拉州的島嶼，面積378.8km²，是希臘第十二大島嶼。

島上最大的城鎮薩索斯，與島同名，人口約3,130，位於島的北部，與希臘大陸相對。

Thassos is one of those Greek islands that boasts an incredible natural setting. Thassos island is the northernmost island of the Aegean Sea and sits very close to the coasts of the Greek mainland.

薩索斯島(Thasos)地處愛琴海北端，是卡瓦拉省的一部分，也是全希臘距離大陸最近的主要島嶼。古腓尼基人曾在此採銅、鋅、銀、金。公元前681-前628年希臘人移入此地，在這裡建築堡壘，並發展出了發達的文化。 1981年起在島北海岸外開發了普林諾斯油田，為全國最重要的石油產地。薩索斯島還盛產白色大理石。這裡的博物館裡收藏了諸多公元前發掘出的遺物。近年來隨著越來越多世界各地的遊客了解潟湖，薩索斯島的旅遊業也日漸發達，旅遊基礎設施日臻完善。

Thasos is a Greek island, geographically part of the North Aegean Sea, but administratively part of the Kavala regional unit, Macedonia. It is the northernmost major Greek island, and 12th largest by area. Thasos is also the name of the largest town of the island situated at the northern side, opposite the mainland and about 10 kilometres from Keramoti. Thassos island is known from ancient times for its termae making it a climatic and balneoclimateric resort area.

Thasos's economy relies on timber (it is rich in forests), marble quarries, olive oil and honey. Tourism has also become important since the 1960s, although not to the level of other Greek islands.

Thassos island is also famed for its hiking trails. Many hiking paths cross the island and lead to traditional hillside villages, impressive gorges, and mysterious caves. Sightseeing is another must thing to do in Thassos! The Ancient Agora above Limenas and the Monastery of Archangel Michael will introduce you to the island’s history and tradition!

The standouts of Thassos Greece are its beaches and its mountainous villages. The island’s quaint villages boast a traditional architecture, as they are full of stone-made houses, narrow paved streets, and grey-tiled roofs.

Thassos is an attractive island with beautiful beaches, green landscape, and traditional architecture. As this is a place with a long history, the most interesting sightseeing in Thassos is the Ancient Agora, a site with old temples, remains of sanctuaries, an Ancient Theatre, and other buildings. Very interesting is also the Monastery of Archangel Michael, protector of the island, with a great view of the sea. Many hiking paths cross the center of Thassos, leading to old castles, mountain peaks and traditional villages, such as Panagia, Potamia and Theologos, where a nice folklore museum is found

Paradise, Makriammos, Golden beach Thassos, Alyki, Metalia, and Livadi are some of the best beaches in Thassos! Dive into the crystal clear waters of these beaches, laze under the sun and then taste the local delicacies at the seaside taverns.

被遺忘的希臘小島 - 白色大理石海灘

薩索斯島 - 夏天這裡是人山人海的觀光客，不過到了冬天這裡就像鬼城，我的Host跟我開玩笑，我大概是島上目前唯一的觀光客，但我喜歡這樣的平靜，整個白色大理石海灘上，閃爍著，空無一人。

我的沙發衝浪Host是島上當了19年的警察，他說冬天的工作，每天就是看足球賽，中午12點到咖啡館與其他冬天無工作的男人聊天，喝著用粉泡的冰咖啡到下午2點。

Metalia Beach Thassos: Metalia beach is situated on the foot of a villa at Limenaria. It is a fine sandy beach ideal for children and lies 39 km south west of Limenas, the capital of Thassos. Metalia has pliable sands and there is a gradual and gentle descent into the placid and crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea making the shoreline shallow. There is a pretty miniature bay accessible via a short trail. There is no natural shade on the beach

現今大多數村莊都被安置在內陸，人口主要從事農業和畜牧業。島內的農業生產主要是蜂蜜和橄欖油，也有酒、山羊放牧、綿羊和捕魚。 其他行業包括製材、旅遊業。此外島上還有採礦業，例如鉛、鋅和大理石，由其在色雷斯海附近有一個大的大理石礦場，而島嶼南方有許多廢棄的大理石採石場，不少自古代已有開採。腓尼基人在島上的卑金屬和貴金屬開採活動則開始於公元前7世紀，後來到了公元前4世紀則由希臘人、羅馬人先後繼續開採活動。希羅多德曾拜訪該島，指出島上最好的礦場都是由腓尼基人在薩索斯島面向薩莫色雷斯島的一邊所開採的。

美麗的世外桃源-潟湖因其奇特的景觀被評為十大人跡罕至的世界景觀之一，同時它也是攝影師最愛二十大奇景之一。

薩索斯島潟湖位於薩索斯島南部Astris附近的一片小型沙灘邊，實際上是海邊岩石積年累月受海水侵蝕形成的一個封閉的圓形天然泳池。遠望猶如一泓碧藍池水被鑲嵌進灰白色崖壁間一般。池子的最外面有一塊岩石與大海相連，愛琴海的海水會不時越過這道“門檻”倒灌進潟湖，彷彿是一汪深邃藍眼珠邊的一顆藍綠色的淚滴，大自然嫻熟的雕刻技術令人大開眼界。

從潟湖上方的小路可以向下攀爬岩石到達潟湖，環繞湖周圍的是高低起伏的岩石，可以看到不少外國遊客選擇在池邊、5米高處和10米高處這三個不同的高度的岩石上躍入潟湖。湖中的水溫比海水溫暖不少，可在此盡情漂游一番。因為遊人眾多，潟湖附近還開了一家小酒館，遊客在欣賞過美景後可以到此處補充一下食物和水分。

Giola is a rock formation that creates a natural pool where and people can swim in it. It is a very popular location among instagrammers. Gialos is located in the region of Astris. The pool is surrounded by rocks and people can even jump from them.

To get to Giola lagoon, you need to drive from Poto to Astris and then take dirt-road for 2km. An off-road vehicle is recommended.
