米洛斯島是希臘大陸以南，愛琴海上基克拉澤斯群島的西南端的一座火山島，隸屬於南愛琴大區，米洛斯島和著名的聖托里尼島和米科諾斯島同屬基克拉澤斯群島，同樣有著清澈碧藍的海水和嶙峋的山峰，相比於名聲更大的聖托里尼島和米科諾斯島，米洛斯島更多的是吸引希臘當地人獨家。

Milos beaches are iconic, and especially the gorgeous Sarakiniko beach. This beach boasts a lunar landscape, consisting of volcanic gleaming white rock formations and crystal clear turquoise waters.
拜其富含礦物質的土壤所賜，米洛斯島在古風時期發展興盛，島上自新石器時期起就有人居住；在青銅器時代早期，米洛斯島在基克拉澤斯群島中的地位突出，皮拉克普古城的出現與其文明的完整程度都可證明島嶼的繁榮昌盛；公元前一千年左右多利亞人在希臘化時期到來島上，並在島上克利馬現址建立了城市。米洛斯島在薩拉米斯和普拉蒂亞戰役中與其它希臘兄弟協力對抗波斯人，但雅典人為報復其在伯羅奔尼撒戰爭的中立態度，在公元前415年將島上都市摧毀殆盡。其後米洛斯島進入馬其頓人管轄並於公元前311年終止；然後落入埃及人手中；在托勒密海上政權的協助下，米洛斯島經濟得以復蘇，此期間藝術得到快速蓬勃發展。著名的米洛斯阿芙蘿黛蒂雕像就來自此時期，該雕像也被稱為米洛的維納斯，目前收藏於巴黎盧浮宮博物館；而高達2.5米的海神波塞冬雕像也於該時期誕生，收藏於雅典的國家考古博物館。

Milos Sulfur Mines at Paliorema
This beach has clear emerald water but yellow pebbles. The yellow pebbles are indicative of old sulfur mines and abandoned factory installations that were in working order until as early as 1956. One gets an idea of how this entire unit worked by the still almost intact machinery like wagons on the tracks, spare parts in storerooms, tunnels and the various excavations that had been done. There were even some furniture, personal effects like shoes etc that one can see left behind by the miners who probably lived there.
Paliochori is one of the beaches you should definitely visit for a swim. The beach of the homonymous village extends over almost 2 km and is divided into three smaller beaches of huge volcanic rocks in various shades of red.

Tsigradobeach The Most Secluded Beach in Milos.
It is one of the best beaches in Milos, well known for being remote, difficult to reach, and having great caves you can explore. Nestled between cliffs on the southern coast of the island. The process of climbing down is not for the faint of heart.
Plaka is the chief town in Milos, a Greek island in the Cyclades group. It is perched on the top of large rock, overlooking the gulf of Milos. No cars can enter the village because of the narrow spaces between walls and buildings. There are lots of colorful doors and windows in the town, also many nice restaurants.
The Venetian Castle of Milos was built in the 13th century, on the hilltop which now is the Plaka, the capital of the island. Around the castle you will find several churches. The usefulness of the castle at that time was to protect the inhabitants from the pirates who acted uncontrolled across the Mediterranean sea. It is worthwhile to climb up the castle, especially during the evening hours in order to enjoy one of the most unique sunsets in Greece.
