Cars are unnecessary on an island measuring 3.5 km from one end to another. All beaches on Koufonisia are easily accessed by foot and distances are short. Nowadays Koufonisia is regarded as the “Mykonos of the Cyclades

庫福尼西亞島由：Ano Koufonissi 上庫福尼西亞、Kato Koufonissi 下庫福尼西亞這兩座小島組成，它們被一條200米長的海峽分開，根據希臘旅遊局的資訊，目前的Kato Koufonissi仍無人居住，而Ano Koufonissi有著基克拉迪風格的白色建築，並散佈著366人的小社區，當地人主要以捕魚為生。Ano Koufonissi近十年才成為希臘的熱門景點，但亞洲人卻對它了解甚少。

The scenery in Koufonisia Greece is beyond words! Unreal turquoise water, glittering sand, laid-back atmosphere, and Cycladic architecture create a true wonder amid Cyclades archipelago.

Koufonisia Town or Chora, a small fishing village, is the starting point for most tourists to Koufonisia. It is the port of the island and is a prime example of traditional Cycladic architecture.

Most of the tourist facilities on the island, including hotels, tavernas and shops are located in this village. The main pathway along the road by the sea is where all the action is. Be it tiny shops selling local merchandise or cozy tavernas, its all here. The beach called Megali Ammos at the port is a great place for a cool swim, being nice, clean and not very crowded.

Koufonisia Greece belongs to the Cyclades island group in the enticing Aegean sea. Koufonisia is a group of 2 islands: Ano Koufonissi and Kato Koufonissi. They sit in the heart of the Aegean sea, between Naxos and Amorgos and belong to the famous Cyclades island group. Famous for their exotic ambiance and pristine beaches, the Koufonisia islands are the best holiday destination for those who want a break from reality. If you’re someone who likes isolation, you can reach Kato Koufonissi by boat from Ano Koufonissi and take a dip in its crystal clear waters.

The beautiful church of Agios Georgios stands in Chora, the capital of Koufonissia, and this is the protector church of the island. It is built in the traditional Cycladic style, with white walls and blue dome.

The tiny island of Koufonisia Cyclades combines natural beauty, amazing beaches, and wild landscape. This is the supreme destination for people who are looking to truly relax during their vacations. There is not much to do for sightseeing in Koufonisia, except swimming in the crystal waters and hiking. Many visitors also rent bicycles to get around the island as there is no bus or other public transport. Many beaches in Koufonisia, such as Fanos and Pori, are naturist beaches. Chora is the main and only village on this island, that is frequently visited for a day trip from Naxos or Amorgos.

The town of Koufonisia has a very traditional look. The houses are made with the classic characteristics of the Cycladic architecture. The whitewashed buildings, narrow streets, and alleyways are indicative of the Cycladic style.

Koufonisia boasts some of the best beaches you’ve seen in your life! The best Koufonisia beaches are Foinikas, Loutro, Italida, and Pori, in Ano Koufonissi and Nero, Detis and Panagia in Kato Koufonissi.

Coves before Pori Beach Koufonisia: On the way to Pori, there are some wonderful rock formations with exotic blue water. These rocks are often used for diving, offering an amazing experience to the divers and a great chance to photographers.

Gala Beach Koufonisia: On your quest for good beaches in Koufonisia, you can go from Platia Pounda to Pori and continue to a small beach called Gala. Gala means milk in the Greek Language and the beach gets this distinctive name from the frothy waves that one can see in the interior of the caves. Gala is basically an open cave connecting the sea via a narrow open corridor and the sea gains entry into this cave through this opening.

The small pebbled beach is beautiful and the whispering you hear is the sound of the pebbles that the water is carrying. As with all beaches in Koufonisia, the waters are bluer than blue, clear as clear can be and pure sandy beaches. Gala, though miniature in size, is a breathtaking piece of nature.
