在希臘聖島居住第三年，

疫情關係，今年格外安靜，

沒有工作，那就去旅行吧！

我用一個月搭船旅遊了希臘12個小島，

在無人海灘星空下過夜7個晚上

Crete Greece is the biggest island in Greece and one of the biggest islands in the Mediterranean. Boasting one of the most beautiful natural landscapes you’ve ever seen, Crete island offers views and experiences galore!

To start with, Crete beaches are out of this world. Surrounded by verdant nature, they have magical waters covering all the shades of blue and sugar-fine sand. Balos beach, Vai beach, and Elafonisi beach are some of the most scenic Crete beaches. Lay under the sun, feel the water gently lapping at your feet, gaze out to the endless sea, take a dip into the paradise waters… Visiting the best beaches in Crete is a bucket list experience!

Balos is an amazing beach on the north westernmost spot of Chania Crete. It is accessed through a track road or by tour boat from Kissamos.

Balos has white sand, soft seabed and crystal water. Opposite the beach, there is a rocky island called Gramvoussa and on top of this island, there is a steep Venetian castle with gorgeous view to the region and the sea.

Balos is among the best beaches in Greece and one of the most beautiful beaches in Crete that lies 60 km north west of Chania Town. It is seen as a lagoon from the hills above the beach.

Elafonisi is a small islet connected to the rest of Crete by a shallow reef that can be crossed when the sea is calm. This islet lies 82 km northwest of Chania town and can be reached by boat from Paleohora or by car from the village of Vathi, until a point and then cross the reef.

Elafonisi is like paradise on earth and has a wonderful beach with pink coral sand and crystalline waters. It is consireded as one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. This magical place was deserted for a long time but now it has become a popular sight and can get pretty crowded during the high summer season.

The beautiful Lake Kournas in Chania Crete: Lake Kourna is the only lake with fresh water in Crete. It is situated in a magnificent location, just 4km away from Georgioupolis Chania. Lake Kournas is a remarkable destination for an afternoon walk or a day trip. The relaxing and beautiful landscape is ideal for nature lovers.

This natural lake was created by the holdback of the underwater that comes from the White Mountains, the resistant rocks and the lie of the natural cavity. Basically, the lake is a huge hollow which is fed from the southeast side with water due to its soil.

Lake Kournas is a favorite destination for both locals and tourists. It is the ideal location for a relaxing walk around the transparent water of the lake. On the one side of the lake, there are cafeterias and taverns, offering a remarkable view to the lake. You can swim in the magnificent small beaches with white sand, located next to the cafeterias. Also, visitors can do pedals here to explore the lake.

Due to its dark water, there are many myths associated with this lake. An old myth said that the lake has no bottom. However, this was only a myth since its depth is actually 22,5 meters.

Crete has a rich history and culture. You’ll have the first taste of its historical past just by wandering in the Chania town. Strolling around, you’ll come across noble mansions, Venetian fortresses, museums, fountains and churches, that ooze a unique charm. But, to dive even deeper into the island’s history, Knossos Palace, Phaistos Palace, and Spinalonga islet are must places to visit in Crete.

Crete Preveli Rethymno: The beach of Preveli is situated 40 km south of the main town and is the most idyllic beach in Rethymno. Preveli reminds of an exotic lagoon. It is an oasis of palm trees with crystalline greenish waters and fine soft sand. Kourtaliotis River ends at this wonderful beach, creating a delta. Apart from the superb palm trees, lush vegetation surrounds the beach and the river, creating a dreamy landscape.

Because of its extreme beauty, the Preveli Beach unfortunately gets very crowded during high season. This wonderful place can be reached by foot from the parking nearby the Preveli Monastery or by fishing boats which leave regularly from Plakias and Agia Galini.

Crete Triopetra Rethymno: Triopetra beach owes its name to the three imposing rocks found in its waters. It is located 52 km south of Rethymno town and 13 km north of Akoumia village.

The beach of Triopetra is long and sandy. Due to its geographical position, it is frequently affected by southern winds. However, it remains popular due to its crystal waters.

Triopetra beach is mostly famous for the wide range of water sports and for its lovely sunset that creates beautiful colors in the sky. To go to Triopetra beach, you have to go to Akoumia village and then take a difficult track.
